I have used both version of the Trend. This later version is not just a remake of the old one it is a new mask altogether. Better feel, better air flow (a bit nosier than the old one). Better filtration (check the ratings). It is a bit heavier but the balance after wearing it is much better. The battery recharges from outside the helmet so you don't have to remove it for charging. The battery is a true 8 hour one I have even had it last longer than the 8 hours. There is a warning tone that sounds when the battery is getting low. Since the filters are on top rather than in the front the dust gathering is much better and more logical. All in all a much better product.
